July 22nd, 2021: Yuigahama Beach Cleanup

The aim of our first event was to learn of and face the reality of marine pollution in one of Japan's many beaches, and to spend a few hours cleaning the beach. We aimed to be part of making a significant impact on the Yuigahama beach while grasping an understanding of how severe marine pollution can be.

Working with unfamiliar faces gave us the opportunity to get to know each other and to share our care for the environment.

The stream which led to the ocean was extremely polluted.
